Barbara Schwarz, a Dominican Sister of Amityville, believes that it is through the arts one can KNOW the depths of one's heart. Her art is passionate and vibrant with color. Creativity and integration marks her preaching. Her art is prolific in form and style -- from clay and wood, to paint, mandalas, strappo, and graphics on the computer. Her "Jesus and the Bent over Woman" was published on the Global Sisters Report Site , Redemportist Publications in the UK and elsewhere.

Barbara has an MA in Scripture from Providence College and a certificate from Salve Regina's Institute for Healing through the Expressive Arts. She has given retreats and days of prayer. She was the artist articulator for the first Federation Convocation. She receive the DIA Spirit recognition at Mission San Jose.
